Ex-Diplomat Marcus-Bello Challenges APC's Adeola on Ancestry

Folake Marcus-Bello, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Zambia and Malawi and a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ogun State, has reignited a debate concerning the ancestry of Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election. During a live television program, Marcus-Bello asserted that Adeola, also known as Yayi, is not from Yewa and claimed to possess documentary evidence supporting her statements.

In response, Adeola threatened legal action against both Marcus-Bello and Hon. Abayomi Hunye for alleged libelous remarks about his origin. Adeola's Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, conveyed this threat, stating that false statements were made about Adeola and his family.

Marcus-Bello emphasized the importance of having a genuine representative from Yewa for the governorship and challenged Adeola to a public debate, offering to present documents that contradict his claims regarding his ancestry.
