Ogun State Halts Awujale Selection Process Over Security Concerns

The Ogun State Government has suspended the Awujale selection process following security reports and petitions. The process to choose a successor to the late Awujale Oba Sikiru Adetona, who passed away after a 65-year reign, has been halted to maintain public order and protect the integrity of the selection process.

Ganiyu Hamzat, the chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, announced the decision, citing the need to ensure peace, order, and good governance in the selection of the new Awujale.
