Adebutu Promises Active Role for Deputy in Ogun 2027

Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun state election, made a commitment to ensure that his running mate, Alhaja (Dr.) Lateefat Oyeyemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, will not serve as a "spare tyre" in his administration.

This pledge was made during her birthday celebration on Saturday at her residence in Abule Ijebu, Alogi, Abeokuta. Adebutu assured Sowunmi-Kolapo that, if elected governor, she would have an active role in governance and decision-making.

He promised to formally transmit executive powers to her whenever he is away from the state, describing this commitment as a birthday gift to her. Adebutu emphasized that his administration would focus on teamwork, mutual trust, and shared responsibility, ensuring that the office of the deputy governor is fully engaged in governance.

The declaration received applause from party members and guests, reflecting confidence and a commitment to effective leadership ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun state.
