PDP Names Yemi Sowunmi as Ogun Deputy Governorship Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) officially announced Yemi Sowunmi as the deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming 2027 Ogun State elections. This announcement was made during a ceremony held at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta, where party leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, and women's organizations gathered to show support.

Sowunmi, a former group business editor at Punch Newspapers, expressed gratitude to the party leadership and pledged unwavering loyalty to the PDP and its governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu. She emphasized her commitment to public service and outlined her vision for economic growth, youth empowerment, quality education, and healthcare delivery in Ogun State.

Adebutu described Sowunmi as a competent and dedicated politician, whose selection was the result of extensive consultations among party stakeholders. He expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge victorious in the elections, urging party members to unite and mobilize voters across the state's 20 local government areas.
