Ogun Opposition Not a Threat to APC in 2027 Elections

Kayode Oladel, a former lawmaker, stated that the opposition parties in Ogun State, specifically the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), do not pose a significant threat to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 governorship race. He cited weak leadership and a lack of structural strength as key factors contributing to the opposition's decline.

Oladel criticized the PDP for undermining its own position by failing to effectively present its 2023 governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, and argued that this has raised doubts about the party's ability to compete effectively. He emphasized the need for proven leadership and strategic management to address the state's complex economic issues.

Oladel highlighted the growing support for APC's candidate, Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, and noted that the political environment is increasingly favoring the ruling party, which he believes will continue to strengthen its electoral prospects.
