Ogun-Osun River Basin Demands Govt Action Against Pollution - Stakeholders Urged to Stop Activities Contributing to River Pollution

The management staff of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority staged a sensitization road show in Abeokuta to raise awareness about the dangers of river pollution and demand government action. The campaign aimed to highlight the impact of pollution on the health of citizens and ecosystems.

Stakeholders from Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states were urged to stop activities that contribute to river pollution. The campaign emphasized the need for policymakers and key players in water management to enforce regulations prohibiting indiscriminate waste disposal into rivers.

The call for action was part of the activities marking the 2025 edition of World Rivers Day, stressing the importance of safeguarding rivers from pollution for the well-being of communities.
