Ogun Police Arrest 30 Suspects in Cult Initiation Raid

On June 16, 2026, at 16:00 hours, the Ogun State Police Command, through its Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), conducted an operation in Isara Remo following credible intelligence about a suspected cult initiation. The operation targeted an incomplete building where individuals were allegedly unlawfully assembled, consuming alcohol and engaging in initiation rites.

The police swiftly mobilized a combined team from the Isara Area Command and dispersed the gathering, resulting in the arrest of 30 suspects. Among those arrested were Muiz Olawal, Adeniji Akinwal, Ajayi Victor, Damilola Oluwasegun, and several others.

The police recovered items including a jackknife and local drums used during the illegal assembly. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, commended the operation's swift and professional response and reiterated the command's commitment to combating cultism and criminal activities in the state.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious gatherings to security agencies.
