Ogun Police Arrest 30 Suspected Cultists in Isara Remo

On June 16, 2026, Ogun State Police apprehended 30 suspected cultists in Isara Remo during a coordinated operation by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) and Isara Area Command. The police acted on credible intelligence about a gathering of suspected hoodlums at an incomplete building, where they were involved in illegal activities, including the consumption of alcohol and chanting.

During the operation, four vehicles were allegedly abandoned as the suspects attempted to escape. The police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the suspects would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta and charged in court upon completion of investigations.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, reiterated that cultism-related criminal activities would not be tolerated in the state and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious gatherings to the nearest police station.
