Ohanaeze Progressive Council Rejects Youth Council's Statement

The Ohanaeze Progressive Council, represented by Comrade Ugo Benjamin, publicly disowned a statement issued by the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) that condemned the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by former governors from the South East. Benjamin described the OYC's actions as shameless and disrespectful to the elders and leaders of the Igbo community.

He emphasized the importance of respecting elder statesmen and highlighted that the endorsement of Tinubu was a strategic move to secure the future of the region. Benjamin accused the OYC of acting out of mischief and being influenced by external sponsorship aimed at causing division ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged unity among the Igbo people and called for support behind the leaders who are working for the interests of the region within the Nigerian project.
