Ohanaeze Ndigbo Affirms Igbo Right to Contest 2027 Presidency, Dismisses False Reports

Ohanaeze Ndigbo refutes a report suggesting Igbos should not contest the 2027 presidency until 2035. The factional leader of the youth wing, Damian Okafor, had advised against it, but Ohanaeze clarified that individuals are free to contest.

President General Senator John emphasized that Ohanaeze does not dictate political affiliations or candidacy decisions. The organization denounced the false report and affirmed that any Igbo person is encouraged to participate in the democratic process and run for the presidency in 2027.
