Nigerian Oil Production Falls to 1.5mbpd in September Due to Workers' Strike

In September 2025, Nigerian oil and condensate production decreased to 1.5 million barrels per day (mbpd) as reported by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). This decline was attributed to industrial actions by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), leading to the shutdown of export facilities.

Despite a slight year-on-year increase, the monthly production dropped by 3.09% compared to August 2025. The top eight streams contributing to production include Forcados blend, Bonny Light, Qua Iboe, and Escravos Light.
