Nigeria's Crude Oil Output Rises by 5.5% in August 2025

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) reported a 5.5% increase in crude oil output in August 2025, reaching an average of 2 million barrels per day (bpd). Despite the rise in crude oil production, condensate output experienced a marginal decline to 0.5 million bpd.

This increase in crude oil production signifies a positive trend in Nigeria's upstream oil sector, reflecting improved operational performance. However, the challenges remain high, especially with the decline in condensate production.

Nigeria's crude oil output in August met 96% of its OPEC quota, demonstrating the country's capacity to meet international obligations in the oil market.
