Ojulari's Leadership Boosts Nigeria's Oil Production

Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on April 2, 2025, to lead NNPC Limited during a critical transformation period for Nigeria's oil and gas industry. His leadership comes at a time when the sector faces challenges such as production decline, underinvestment, and operational inefficiencies.

Ojulari's extensive industry experience has enabled him to focus on improving crude oil production, which increased from approximately 200,000-250,000 barrels per day to about 330,000 barrels per day in August 2025, and approximately 355,000 barrels per day by the end of that year. His administration is also prioritizing future investments, notably with the approval of the Bonga Southwest-Aparo Final Investment Decision, which aims to enhance Nigeria's deepwater oil fields.

Ojulari's approach emphasizes transforming the nation's natural resources into economic opportunities, thereby addressing the longstanding issues plaguing the oil and gas sector.
