Okonkwo Endorses Peter Obi for ADC Presidential Ticket

Okonkwo has publicly endorsed former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi for the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections. Speaking to journalists in Ojoto during a medical outreach organized by the Anambra State Okonkwo Foundation, he expressed confidence that Obi would secure the presidential nomination.

Okonkwo, a member representing Idemili North in the House of Representatives, recently defected from the Labour Party to the ADC to support Obi's candidacy. He criticized certain provisions of recent amendments to the electoral act, claiming they undermine the freedom of political association and participation.

According to Okonkwo, the law prevents individuals from belonging to political parties while supporting candidates outside their party, raising concerns about the management of national resources and urging government leaders to prioritize the welfare of citizens.
