Okonkwo Claims Obi Would Aid Tinubu if He Leaves ADC

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed that if Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, decides to leave the ADC due to the loss of the presidential ticket, he will be perceived as a mole for President Bola Tinubu. Okonkwo made these remarks during an interview on Channel Television when asked about the speculation surrounding Obi's potential departure from the ADC coalition after failing to secure the presidential ticket.

He indicated that such a move would imply that Obi has compromised and is working towards Tinubu's re-election. Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar stated that he is ready to step aside and confirmed that Obi is a front-runner for the ADC's presidential ticket, alongside other candidates like Rabiu Kwankwaso and Rotimi Amaechi.

When questioned about stepping down for Obi, Atiku affirmed his support for Obi's candidacy.
