Okonkwo and Balogun Sign WNBA Pre-Season Contracts

Ami Okonkwo and Elizabeth Balogun have signed pre-season contracts with their respective WNBA teams, Dalla Wing and Toronto Tempo, as they prepare for the 2026 women's basketball season. Okonkwo, a 6ft 2in forward, is returning to Dalla Wing after making her WNBA debut in 2025, where she played eight games and averaged 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.

She had a standout performance in September, scoring a career-high 20 points against the Phoenix Mercury. Okonkwo, who captains Nigeria's D'Tigress, has also had an impressive stint in Turkey with Besiktas, averaging 14.9 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Elizabeth Balogun, a versatile wing, has joined Toronto Tempo's training camp, bringing international experience and a strong defensive presence. Both players will participate in the pre-season activities starting April 19, with the regular season set to begin on May 8, marking the league's 30th campaign.
