Peter Olayinka Joins Al Wehda on Two-Year Contract

Peter Olayinka, a 30-year-old forward, has completed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Wehda on a two-year contract as a free agent after departing from Cypriot club APOEL Nicosia, where he made 14 league appearances and scored twice. Olayinka announced his transfer on Thursday, expressing his readiness for a new chapter in his career with the statement, “New chapter.

Same hunger, same passion, bigger goals. Ready for the journey ahead.” He brings significant European experience, having played in Czechia, Serbia, Cyprus, and Belgium, with notable success at Slavia Prague, where he won three Czech First League titles and three Czech Cups.

He also had a successful tenure at Red Star Belgrade, winning two domestic doubles. Olayinka represented Nigeria at the international level, being part of the Super Eagles squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

He aims to make a significant impact at Al Wehda, following in the footsteps of Odion Ighalo, who previously scored 21 goals in 63 appearances for the club.
