Jimoh Taiye Hassan Wins 2026 Olododo Table Tennis Championship

The 2026 Olododo Ilorin East and South Table Tennis Championship concluded with Jimoh Taiye Hassan from Gambari Ward II emerging as the champion. The final took place on Wednesday at the Balogun Fulani of Ilorin Emirate in Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State.

Hassan was awarded a cash prize of N50,000 and a certificate of participation after defeating his opponent. The first runner-up, AbdulHameed Hassan from Magaji Aare Ward II, and second runner-up, Ibrahim Kehinde from Ibagun Ward, also received cash prizes and certificates.

The championship was sponsored by Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, and attracted numerous players, supporters, and dignitaries. Notably, Mallam AbdulHameed Muhammad, the Secretary of Ilorin South Local Government Council, represented council chairman Hon. Abdulmajeed Nuhu Podo, while Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya attended with his entourage.

The event served as a platform for community engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
