Young Ayomide Omotoso Shines at U-15 Table Tennis Event

At the 7th Adegboyega Efunkoya U-15 National Table Tennis Tournament held at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos, five-year-old Ayomide Omotoso made his debut as the youngest competitor. Despite his small stature and being outmatched by seasoned opponents, Omotoso expressed joy in participating, stating, “I am very happy playing because I love table tennis.” He is the son of Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy.

The tournament, organized by the Efunkoya Sports Foundation in collaboration with the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), attracted over 130 participants, including 82 boys and 54 girls. Segun Adegboyega, the first son of the late Dr. Adegboyega Efunkoya, emphasized the importance of combining sports with education and the potential for discovering future talents through such events.

The tournament took place over three days of spirited play, celebrating the legacy of Dr. Efunkoya, a former NTTF president.
