Fatima Oloko Celebrates Super Falcons Call-Up

Fatima Oloko, a goalkeeper for the Olokos River Angels, has expressed her excitement about receiving her first call-up to the Super Falcons, describing it as a dream come true. She feels privileged to join the squad, which includes players she admires, particularly Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper and three-time consecutive African Best Female Goalkeeper.

Oloko has kept four clean sheets in the Nigeria Women’s Football League season and received the goalkeeper of the week award. She expressed disbelief upon being selected by head coach Justin Madugu for the 25-player squad for a friendly match against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses.

This match serves as preparation for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2024. The top four semi-finalists will qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
