Olubadan Advocates for Traditional Medicine Integration

Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has called for the integration of traditional medicine with modern healthcare systems to enhance healthcare delivery in Nigeria. This appeal was made during a visit from the executive members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Oyo State branch, at the Olubadan Palace.

According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gbenga Ayoad, the monarch emphasized that traditional medicine remains an effective and affordable healthcare option for many Nigerians who believe in its efficacy. He urged for a period of advocacy to promote the integration of traditional and modern medicine.

Segun Ajanaku, the chairman of the Oyo State branch of PSN, congratulated the monarch on his ascension to the throne and appreciated his achievements within a short period of reign. Ajanaku also informed the monarch about the completion of a pharmacist story building in Ibadan, which is the first of its kind in Nigeria, and sought the monarch's approval for the association's annual medical outreach scheduled for September 25, 2026.
