Olubunmi Peters Takes Charge as Eko Disco Chairman

Olubunmi Peters has been appointed as the Chairman of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) as part of a strategic move by Transgrid Enerco to acquire a 60% controlling stake in the company for N360 billion. This acquisition received unanimous public approval and coincides with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's efforts to reform Nigeria's energy sector.

Peters, who previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) from March 2006 to July 2009, has a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master's degree in Highway Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles.

His leadership is expected to enhance power supply and infrastructure development in Nigeria, addressing the long-standing issues of erratic power supply affecting over 200 million citizens.
