Olukayode FC Triumphs in D’Royal Off-season Tournament Opener

Olukayode FC, the defending champions, secured a 3-1 victory over Veloc FC in their opening match of the D’Royal Off-season Football Tournament, which commenced on July 12, 2026. The tournament, held at Akur Township Stadium, features 16 competing teams vying for the trophy.

The grand opening ceremony attracted thousands of football fans and was attended by notable dignitaries, including Mathew Olaniboji, Chief Executive Officer of the tournament, and Mr. Adeyemi, who represented the Ondo State Ministry of Youth and Sport Development.

The event aims to discover and empower young talent while bringing the community together. Other dignitaries included Mr.

Evelyn Lebi, General Manager of the Ondo State Sport Council, and Mr. Onilud Tayo, Chairperson of the Ondo Coach Association.

The tournament is scheduled to run for four weeks, culminating in a grand final.
