RIYE Athletics Circuit Showcases Young Talents in Ogun

The RIYE Athletics Circuit, organized by Bukola Olopade and Tund Dele, took place at the MKO Abiola Sport Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State, from June 15 to June 26. The event featured 2,000 athletes from 200 schools across the state, showcasing young talent through various competitions.

Notable performances included 14-year-old Olufunmilayo Kuku from Muslim Girl High School, who dominated the girls' events by winning titles in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 meters relay, setting a new personal best. Sodiq Olaniyi from Luba Comprehensive High School won the boys' 400 meters title and contributed to his school's victory in the 4x100 meters relay.

Other standout athletes included Ibrahim Abdul and Samuel Adegbuyi, who excelled in middle-distance events. Olopade praised the initiative for creating a platform for grassroots talent development and expressed confidence that many athletes could progress to higher levels of competition.

Plans for a second edition of the circuit are already underway.
