Olumide Oyedeji Announces Mother's Burial for April 10

Olumide Oyedeji, the former captain of Nigeria's national basketball team, D’Tigers, has announced the burial arrangements for his mother, Deaco Felicia Omolayo Moriyik, who passed away at the age of 81. The burial is scheduled for April 10, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to a release, a Christian wake will be held at the Blood Jesu Apostol Church, located at Ok Alafia Jagun, with the service commencing from 7 AM to 9 AM. The funeral service will follow at the same church on Akintola Road, Ekotedo, starting at 10 AM.

After the service, a reception for guests will be held at the Sunlight Royal Event Centre on Ring Road, Ibadan, with the official colors for the day being champagne, gold, and brown. Oyedeji, who has also made history as the first African elected Secretary General of the World Olympians Association, is honoring the memory of his late mother, who was a significant figure in his life.
