Oluremi Tinubu Launches Kidney Clinic and Tech Academy

On a recent date, Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, inaugurated a kidney disease clinic and a health-tech academy in Hadejia, Jigawa State. The clinic, named the Oluremi Tinubu Clinic, is fully equipped and aims to promote early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease, particularly for vulnerable populations.

This initiative is a collaboration between FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa. Additionally, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy was established under the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to train youth health workers in using technology to address health challenges.

During the inauguration, Senator Tinubu praised the partnership behind the projects and emphasized their importance in improving healthcare access. Kashi Inuwa, the Director General of NITDA, described the academy as a milestone in health innovation, highlighting its role in developing digital tools for early warning systems for chronic kidney disease.

The projects coincide with the establishment of the National Health Technology Data Analytics Office by President Bola Tinubu.
