Oluyole LG Commissions Housing Estate for Teachers

Engr. Akeem Olatunji, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, officially commissioned a teachers’ housing estate in Ibadan, developed by the Nigeria Union of Teachers Cooperative Investment Credit Society.

Governor Seyi Makinde's administration was praised for its commitment to worker welfare, including prompt salary payments. Olatunji highlighted that the housing project enables teachers to save consistently and improves their living conditions, marking a significant change from previous discrimination by landlords against teachers.

The event coincided with the 28th annual general meeting of the cooperative society, where Olatunji noted the importance of collective determination and prudent management in achieving the housing estate's completion. Oyo State Ministry of Commerce and Industry representative, Mr.

Esther Awoyinka, commended Olatunji's leadership and the cooperative's financial discipline. The project is seen as a model for other local governments in Oyo State to emulate, demonstrating the impact of cooperative societies on community development.
