Omisore Backs Bola Oyebamiji for Osun APC Candidate Amid Disqualifications

Former Senator Iyiola Omisore has thrown his support behind Bola Oyebamiji as the consensus candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's endorsement. This decision comes after seven aspirants, including former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi and Akin Ogunbiyi, were disqualified by the APC screening committee for alleged violations of party guidelines.

Omisore, a former National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Managing Director, emphasized the need for an overhaul of APC's strategies. Despite initial reservations, he accepted the consensus arrangement and pledged to work towards the party's success in the upcoming election.
