Omisore Withdraws Lawsuit Against APC Governorship Primary

Iyiola Omisore, a former senator and campaign organizer, has officially withdrawn his lawsuit challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Osun State. The suit, which was filed to contest the disqualification of several aspirants by the party's screening panel, was marked as FHC/OS/CS/261/2025.

Omisore sought a federal court's determination on whether the APC imposed disqualification criteria beyond the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. The case raised concerns within the party as the governorship elections are set for December 9, 2025.

Following interventions from key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande, Omisore announced the withdrawal of the suit, emphasizing the need for unity within the party. He accused certain individuals of misrepresenting the situation and creating panic among party members.

The case had gained public attention after surfacing on social media, but its withdrawal aims to foster cohesion ahead of the upcoming elections.
