Omisore Withdraws Lawsuit Against APC Over Aspirants

Iyiola Omisore, a former senator, has officially withdrawn his lawsuit against the All Progressives Congress (APC) concerning the disqualification of certain governorship aspirants ahead of the party's primaries in Osun State. The suit, which was filed in the Federal High Court in Osogbo, challenged the validity of the APC's screening process, claiming it violated the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

Omisore sought a court declaration that the party's disqualification of candidates was invalid and requested the court to compel the APC to recognize the aspirants for the upcoming primaries. The lawsuit gained public attention when it surfaced on social media, listing the case for a hearing on March 2.

However, following the intervention of key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and elder statesman Bisi Akande, Omisore's campaign organization announced the withdrawal of the suit, urging party members to disregard any reports suggesting the case was still pending in court.
