Tinubu Promises Safe Return of Abducted School Children

On Children's Day, President Bola Tinubu reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safe return of children abducted from schools in Oyo and Borno states. In a statement, he assured parents and teachers that the government would not abandon the children in captivity.

Tinubu disclosed that direct security agencies would take action toward the safe recovery of affected school children. He mandated school authorities to strengthen protective measures in high-risk areas across the country.

The President's statement, released on Wednesday, emphasized the importance of every Nigerian child and the need for a safe learning environment. He highlighted that the government would work closely with state governments and security commands to enhance rapid response capabilities and improve support for children affected by violence and abduction.

Tinubu also called for community involvement in safeguarding children and stressed that the government’s duty extends to ensuring the proper reintegration and care of rescued children.
