Tinubu Vows to Rescue Abducted Oyo Teachers and Students

President Bola Tinubu condemned the recent abduction of teachers and students from the Baptist Nursery and Primary School and the Community Grammar School in Esiel Community, Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State. In a statement issued on Monday following the attack on Friday, Tinubu described the act as barbaric and assured residents that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims.

His spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the President sympathizes with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the families of the abducted individuals. Tinubu commended the swift response of the Inspector General of Police and the deployment of tactical intelligence teams to the area, expecting a breakthrough soon.

He also underscored the need for the establishment of state police to address the increasing cases of kidnapping across the country and urged the National Assembly to expedite action on legislation for creating state police structures.
