Amotekun Arrests Couple for Burgling Ex-Speaker's Home

The Amotekun Corps in Ondo State arrested a total of 46 suspects, including a couple, Samson Osow (28) and Ayo Oguneso (22), for allegedly burgling the residence of former speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Jumok Akindele, in Okitipupa. The arrests were part of a broader operation that spanned 18 local government areas in the state.

During the operation, the corps recovered seven stolen mobile phones valued at significant amounts. The couple was implicated in the transportation of the stolen phones to Lagos for sale.

Akogun Adetunji Adeley, the commandant of the Amotekun Corps, stated that the suspects would face court proceedings, and the stolen phones would be released upon bond. The operation also targeted other criminal activities, including kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, and violations of anti-open grazing laws, with 13 suspects arrested for kidnapping and 31 for various other crimes.
