Amotekun Arraigns 142 Suspects, Transfers Terror Gang to DSS

Amotekun, the security network agency in Ondo State, has arraigned 142 suspects over the past month, with 64 currently undergoing profiling. The agency's commandant, Adetunji Adeley, announced that four members of a notorious gang linked to armed robbery, kidnapping, and violent attacks have been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS).

This operation marks a significant breakthrough in the state's fight against rising criminal activities. The suspects have reportedly confessed to several criminal operations conducted across the state.

The case files for the 142 suspects have been successfully transferred to courts with competent jurisdiction, addressing various offenses including kidnapping and cultism. Adeley noted that the joint security clearance operations involving Amotekun, the police, the Nigerian Army, and the DSS aim to flush out remaining criminal elements from the expansive forest areas in Ondo State, which pose serious security challenges.
