ASUU Alleges Ondo Govt Neglect of AAUA Funding, Strike Looms

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) in Ondo State accuses the state government of neglecting the institution by failing to fund it adequately, leading to unpaid salary arrears and a looming strike. ASUU and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) are both expressing concerns over the lack of funding, with threats of industrial action.

Despite meetings with government representatives, agreements to address the funding issues have allegedly been ignored. The ASUU chairman highlighted the inadequate monthly subvention and capital grant as major challenges facing the university.

The Ondo State Commissioner of Education and former Vice-Chancellor of AAUA have been called upon to intervene in the situation.
