Ondo Police Arrest Six Suspected Cultists in Operation

The Ondo State Police Command arrested six suspected cultists on June 16, 2026, in Akoko South West Local Government Area. The operation was conducted by the Special Anti-Cultism Squad following credible intelligence regarding cult activities in the area.

The suspects, identified as Damilar Kayod (30), Adejoro Godwin (30), Adedapo Ogunro (36), Chisom Okechukwu (21), Ademulegun Imisi (26), and Odugunl Bukola (21), were apprehended during early hours of the operation. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly involved in activities linked to unlawful confraternities.

The police recovered five battle axes, a jackknife, various charms, and cult paraphernalia, including yellow singlets and face caps. The police stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged in court upon conclusion of the investigation.
