Delta Police Arrest 11 Cultists, Seize Weapons in Asaba

On May 14, 2026, the Delta State Police Command arrested 11 suspected cultists during operations aimed at combating cultism and illegal possession of firearms. The operation, led by police spokesperson Bright Edaf, involved a raid on a hideout at Eagle Square along Okpanam Road in Asaba, resulting in the arrest of seven males and two females.

Weapons recovered included a Beretta pistol, a battle axe, and a cutlass. Additionally, on May 15, 2026, a patrol team intercepted a Lexus Jeep along Ughelli-Patani Road, driven by Felix Ik, leading to the recovery of an English-made pump-action gun and 40 live cartridges.

Christoph Ogidigbo, aged 28, identified as a cult kingpin and leader of the Supremacy Vike Confraternity, was also arrested, with a locally made revolver recovered during his apprehension. Delta State Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi commended the operations and reiterated the command's commitment to combatting cultism and violent crime.
