Delta Police Arrest Two Suspected Cultists in Ibusa

On June 19, 2026, the Delta State Police Command's Anti-Cultism Unit arrested two suspects, Okonkwo Prosper, aged 26, and Aniofu Emmanuel, aged 25, in connection with cult-related violence in the state. The arrests took place during a credible intelligence operation that targeted a criminal hideout in Ibusa, located in the Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are alleged members of a cult group linked to several violent clashes in the Ibusa area. During the raid, police recovered a pump-action gun loaded with five live cartridges, a cutlass, charm substances, and illicit drugs.

The police urged residents to continue partnering with them by providing timely and credible information to aid in the fight against crime, as efforts to apprehend fleeing members of the criminal group are ongoing.
