Ondo State to Distribute 3.6 Million Mosquito Nets to Fight Malaria

The Ondo State Government, in collaboration with the Malaria Consortium, announced plans to distribute 3.6 million Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) to households across the state to combat malaria. The State Commissioner for Health, Banji Ajaka, emphasized the importance of community participation in malaria elimination efforts.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa highlighted malaria as a significant public health challenge in Nigeria, stressing the need for preventive measures. The distribution of ITNs aims to reduce malaria transmission rates and combat the circulation of fake drugs in the state.

The government plans to deploy scanning machines for drug integrity tests as part of the malaria elimination campaign.
