One Dead in Lekki Building Collapse, Rescue Operations Ongoing

On Friday, a partial building collapse occurred at a three-storey structure located on Josephin Fingesi Street off Wole Olateju Street in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State. The incident resulted in the death of one adult male, while nine individuals were affected.

Seven adult males were rescued alive and stabilized by emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA). Dr.

Olufemi Ok Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed that search and rescue operations are ongoing in collaboration with the Lagos State Building Control Agency and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. The priority remains to ensure no victims are trapped beneath the rubble.

In a separate incident, a truck accident occurred on Old Abeokuta Road, where a vehicle lost control and collided with a Toyota Highlander, resulting in severe injuries to the driver of the SUV.
