ONSA, Army, DSS Neutralize Bandit Leader Kachalla Kabiru

On February 13, 2026, the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), alongside the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services (DSS), successfully neutralized notorious bandit leader Kachalla Kabiru in Kogi State. This operation was the result of sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance that confirmed Kabiru's presence in a designated hideout.

The operation included precise airstrikes carried out by the Nigerian Air Force. Kabiru, who had been active in banditry for over ten years, was central to recruiting and coordinating bandit movements across several states in the North Central Zone, including Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Enugu, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo.

He played a major logistical role in mobilizing bandit groups and facilitating the movement of fighters, weapons, and kidnapped victims through forest corridors. The neutralization of Kabiru marks a significant blow to organized banditry in the region and is expected to disrupt operations among criminal elements.
