ONSA and Army Neutralize Notorious Bandit Leader in Kogi

On February 13, 2026, a joint operation involving the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Nigerian Army, and the Department of State Services (DSS) successfully neutralized notorious bandit leader Kachalla Kabiru in Kogi State. This operation was supported by precise airstrikes conducted by the Nigerian Air Force, following sustained intelligence gathering and surveillance that confirmed Kabiru's presence in a designated hideout.

Kabiru, who had been active in the region for over ten years, was central to the recruitment and coordination of bandit movements across several states in the North Central zone. His operations extended into Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Enugu, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo states, where he played a significant role in logistics and the mobilization of bandit groups.
