Onuachu Aims to End Drought in Turkish Cup Semi-Final

Paul Onuachu, the Nigerian striker for Trabzonspor, is determined to break his scoring drought as the team prepares for the Turkish Cup semi-final against Gençlerbirliği at Eryaman Stadium. Onuachu had an impressive start to the season, netting 22 goals by early March, but has struggled recently, scoring only two goals in the last two months.

His recent league performance has seen him fail to score in his last eight matches, including games against İkbal Göztepe, Konyaspor, and Samsunspor. Despite this downturn, he remains the leading scorer in the Turkish Süper Lig with 22 goals, ahead of his closest rival, Eldor Shomurodov of Bağcılar, who has 21 goals.

Trabzonspor's head coach, Fatih Tekke, has included Onuachu in the travel squad for the semi-final, alongside fellow Nigerian players Chibuik Nwaiwu and Anthony Nwakaeme. The match will determine the second finalist, with Konyaspor already awaiting in the final.
