Onuachu's Brace Leads Trabzonspor to Turkish Cup Victory

Paul Onuachu scored two goals, including a decisive penalty in the 78th minute, to help Trabzonspor defeat Konyaspor 2-1 in the 2026 Turkish Cup final held at Corendon Airlines Park in Antalya on Friday night. Onuachu opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a composed finish.

Konyaspor equalized through Jackson Muleka in the second half, but Trabzonspor secured the victory with Onuachu's penalty. Konyaspor's Enis Bardhi missed a penalty earlier in the match.

This victory marks Trabzonspor's 10th Turkish Cup title, especially significant after their previous season's loss to Galatasaray. Trabzonspor's head coach, Fatih Tekke, achieved his first silverware with the club.

Onuachu joined Trabzonspor on a permanent transfer in June 2025 and concluded the season with 22 league goals and four cup goals. The match also marked the end of Anthony Nwakaeme's era at the club, as his contract expires next month.
