Paul Onuachu Rejects Saudi Offer, Stays at Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu, a 31-year-old Nigerian striker, has turned down a significant salary offer from a Saudi Arabian club, which reportedly proposed a wage four times higher than his current earnings. Onuachu, who joined Trabzonspor from Southampton last summer, enjoyed a prolific season, scoring 23 goals in 27 appearances.

His performance has attracted interest from various European clubs following Nigeria's third-place finish in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Despite the financial lure from Saudi Arabia, Trabzonspor has taken a firm stance on Onuachu's future, making it clear they are unwilling to sanction his departure.

His contract with Trabzonspor runs until 2028, with an additional year option, effectively closing the transfer chapter for now. Clubs such as Juventus, Stade Rennais, and Asian Champions League holders Al Ahli are monitoring his situation, although he is not considered a long-term investment due to his age.

Onuachu is expected to be active in the summer transfer window.
