Onuachu's Brace Keeps Trabzonspor in Title Race

Paul Onuachu, a 31-year-old striker, scored a brace for Trabzonspor in their 3-0 victory, maintaining the club's pursuit of the Turkish league title. Onuachu's first goal came in the first half, where he rose highest to score his ninth headed goal of the league campaign just two minutes into stoppage time.

Five minutes later, he calmly converted a penalty, giving Trabzonspor a comfortable two-goal lead at halftime. This performance marked Onuachu's 20th league goal of the season and his 22nd across all competitions.

He has now scored in seven consecutive league matches and has found the net in nine straight appearances in all competitions. This scoring run began on January 23.

Onuachu previously reached the 20-goal mark in a league season during the 2021-22 Belgian Pro League campaign with Genk. His goals have propelled Trabzonspor to third place in the league table with 54 points from 25 matches, three points behind second-placed Fenerbahçe and seven points behind league leaders Galatasaray.
