Ooni of Ife Urges Strategic Security Approach to IGP Disu

Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, extended his congratulations to Tunji Disu, who has been appointed as the Acting Inspector General of Police. In a statement conveyed by Mr.

Mose Olafar, Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni's Palace in Ife, Ogunwusi highlighted the pressing security challenges currently facing Nigeria. He expressed confidence in Disu's operational experience and leadership capabilities, stressing the importance of adopting a renewed strategic approach to security.

The Ooni called for a focus on intelligence-driven policing and improving the welfare of police officers, as well as strengthening collaboration with security agencies to restore public confidence in the police, which has been criticized in recent times. He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his decisive leadership and reaffirmed the palace's commitment to supporting constitutional efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and properties.

Additionally, Ogunwusi expressed appreciation for the service of the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and wished Disu wisdom and divine guidance in his new role.
