Ogun Governor Abiodun Urges Focus on Intelligence Policing

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun commended the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his distinguished service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation following his resignation accepted by President Bola Tinubu. Abiodun expressed his congratulations to the new Acting Inspector General, Tunji Disu, and conveyed confidence in his ability to provide focused, results-oriented leadership during a critical time for the country's security landscape.

In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, Abiodun described Egbetokun as a proud son of Ogun State, whose decades of dedication to the profession have contributed to strengthening internal security, making the state and Nigeria proud. He urged Disu to prioritize intelligence-driven policing, enhance the welfare of police officers, and strengthen community engagement while improving inter-agency collaboration to effectively combat crime across the country.
