OPay Launches N1.2bn Scholarship and N10m Challenge

OPay has opened applications for a N1.2 billion scholarship initiative and a N10 million innovation challenge in collaboration with Google, aimed at enhancing the educational and technical skills of Nigerian students. The initiative is part of OPay's ten-year commitment to support education in Nigeria.

The innovation challenge will run from May 25 to June 14, 2026, and encourages teams of five to develop technology-based solutions for real-life problems. Participants are required to engage with Google's Gemini tool during the process.

The overall winner will receive a cash prize of N10 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive N5 million and N3 million, respectively. Elizabeth Wang, Chief Commercial Officer of OPay, stated that the company remains committed to investing in the future of Nigerian youth through education and innovation.
