ADC Spokesperson Urges Opposition Unity After Court Ruling

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), responded to the Federal High Court's decision in Lokoja, which set aside an earlier ruling that recognized the National Democratic Coalition (NDC). Abdullahi described the ruling as significant for opposition parties, emphasizing that no opposition party is immune from attempts to shrink democratic space.

He warned that the ruling reflects unprecedented efforts to deregister political parties, which poses a threat to democracy. Abdullahi called on opposition parties to work together to defend democracy and the Nigerian people's right to choose their leaders.

He stated that a united opposition is essential to confront the growing threat of dictatorship and to ensure the survival of democracy in Nigeria.
